CKG De Schommel

A participatory process fostering healing, connection, and shared purpose

Following the merger of three care facilities, CKG De Schommel faced internal tensions and a lack of clarity around its core values. The organisation’s original Christian foundations had gradually faded, and there was a clear need for both renewal and reconnection.
To address this, we designed a participatory trajectory rooted in creativity and dialogue. Through a series of workshops, staff members explored their personal values and linked them to the organisation’s historical ethos. This process surfaced shared meanings and deeper motivations, while also creating space to acknowledge and articulate existing tensions and emotional wounds.
The journey culminated in a staff celebration held at a former monastery, where we facilitated a series of workshops and rituals - including music, quiet reflection spaces, fire ceremonies, and creative expression. The event concluded with a musical closing ritual in the chapel, during which the leadership team spoke openly and authentically, from the heart. The emotional release was tangible across the group, paving the way for renewed connection and collective alignment.
The outcome was a revitalised organisational spirit and a shared sense of ownership around the central value of “loving service.” Remarkably, the long-term impact of this process remains evident: seven years later, the organisation achieved an exceptional 96% staff satisfaction score, underlining the enduring value of this initiative.
